look closely-VERY closely…. notice anything??
If you recognize this as a scene from the newly released blockbuster The Roommate, good job! BUT did you also notice that these two characters are actually standing in LMU’s very own student run coffee shop The Lion’s Den??
Just before the release of the film I had heard a few rumors that the movie was filmed here on campus, but with no physical evidence, I chose not to believe the rumors. Even after the movie was officially released on February 11th I didn’t hear much buzz about LMU making a cameo (but maybe that was just because people decided not to go see the film due to its not so great reviews and essentially creepy plot line- why would college students go and see a movie about living with a stranger who turns out to be a psychopath…yeah not me!!)
But anyways, I was talking to a coworker the other day and he mentioned that he went and saw the movie, and that yes it was kind of horrible, but that LMU did make an appearance. So being the internet stalker that I am, I did my due diligence and tried to find proof!
I stumbled upon a fansite for the one of the films stars, Cam Gigandet, and happened to find the photo above. It took me a few minutes to decide if that really was the Den, but then decided YES-it was!
So now this lets the ladies swoon over the super gorgeous Cam Gigandet and for the gentlemen to lust over the amazingly beautiful Minka Kelly-who at some point over the summer were in our very own Den :)
Now I might have to cough up the $10 bucks just to see what other parts of campus that happened to make it into the film!
Have you seen The Roommate? Did you notice LMU?
